IN-HOUSE/WAREHOUSE
Our main focus is packing pre-made bags of produce for drive-thru distributions and sorting fresh produce. If we complete all orders and sorting, there will be additional tasks.
You won't be able to register if this event is full, so please look ahead a week or so to find an available time slot that fits your schedule. We plan projects based on the number of registered volunteers, so please do not show up without registering. Some days may not show any available shifts due to group bookings or meetings. We appreciate our volunteers' support, so if you have trouble finding a suitable time, please call us, and we’ll be happy to help.
IMPORTANT: If you are a student, please register with your school email to avoid creating duplicate accounts and to see all your impacts in one place. If you think you have multiple accounts, please contact GivePulse admin to merge them, as we cannot do it for you.
For help with registration and to register minors and groups, call 765-287-8698. Minors should not be registered online and will need a paper waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian. Requirement Details
- Volunteers must wear closed toed shoes, pants, and clothes fit for warehouse work.
- Please do not come if you are ill or have symptoms of an illness. (This is important because you will be working with others and boxing food for potentially health-compromised neighbors)
- Make sure you bring weather appropriate clothing. The community room and warehouse often is warmer/colder, reflecting the outside weather.
Perks
This volunteer opportunity will provide experience in packing foods, cleaning, life skills, information about food scarcity and the function of the facility (with a tour), gardening (seasonal), organizing, and sometimes food prep.
Parking Details
We have a parking lot in front of the main office.
When you arrive to the office, you will be checking in at the iPads. Find your name and simply swipe right to clock in. There are instructions on the table, but from there you will wash your hands in the restroom and go into the community room to await the Volunteer Coordinator.
