The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.
The 5 C's of the American Red Cross are: Compassionate, Collaborative, Creative, Credible, and Committed; these represent the core values that Red Cross volunteers and staff strive to embody in their work, focusing on delivering compassionate service through collaboration, creativity, trustworthiness, and dedication to their mission.
Humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality: these seven Fundamental Principles sum up the Movement's ethics and are at the core of its approach to helping people in need during armed conflict, natural disasters and other emergencies.
