About
The Saturday School, also known as the Richard Allen Outreach Center (RAOC) Youth Academy, has served children and youth ages 6 to 16 since 2012. Each semester, the Youth Academy supports a diverse group of 25–30 students, many of whom have limited access to academic resources, enrichment opportunities, or consistent support outside of school.
We partner with colleges, universities, and community volunteers to provide tutoring, mentoring, and academic guidance through both individual and group sessions every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Students engage in a wide range of learning experiences from reading, writing, and math to hands‑on enrichment activities They also receive a healthy breakfast and lunch each week.
The success of the Youth Academy is reflected in the encouragement and dedication of our college students and volunteers, whose mentorship has helped many participants grow academically, build confidence, and continue on to high school graduation and college.
The relationships formed within the Youth Academy community have supported remarkable growth in our students, including children who once struggled socially or verbally and now express themselves with greater confidence and clarity about their goals and future.
