♻️ North Austin Mushroom Block Rescue

PLEASE READ FIRST: This sign-up is to do a bulk pick-up ♻️ mushroom blocks from the farm to drop at community pick-up sites and to Central Texas Mycology events. You can also keep blocks for your own projects. Once you sign-up, and pick a date, we will text or email you the instructions, safety protocols, directions to the farm. If you don't hear from us, check the ♻️ 🍄 🧱 🏠  Google Map to see what locations are RED and out of blocks. Feel free to pick another location too that is closest to you.

Reminder, while you are at the farm you can also pick-up mushroom blocks for your own projects. LEAVE AT LEAST 50 BLOCKS AT A COMMUNITY PICK-UP SPOT.

REQUIREMENTS

• Pick a time and date below.  Collection of blocks must be pre-scheduled on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.  The potential for block collection at the North Central warehouse per week is approximately 1,000 to 2,000 blocks per week.  

• Block delivery means you must pick-up 50+ blocks in your own vehicle to deliver to host pick-up sites in the Austin area. You can then take extras home with you. 

• Most vehicles including cars and hatchbacks will work and can fit about 75 blocks. Most trucks can fit around 150 blocks. We recommend you use a tarp— it gets messy.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Central Texas Mycological Society partners with a local mushroom farm in North Austin to divert “spent” mushroom blocks from of the waste and build healthy soil! There are 1,000+ blocks per week to divert and we need your help.
