Make a Difference Day of Service

The grounds surrounding the Pitt County Agricultural Center are included in the 7-acre Pitt County Arboretum. Students would spend their two hours assisting our Horticulture Agent and Extension Master Gardener Volunteers perform routine clean-up and maintenance of the gardens that comprise the arboretum. Tasks may include but are not limited to: -Raking leaves -Turning compost -Pruning trees, shrubs, etc. -Transplanting vegetables -Harvesting fruit crops -Etc. Volunteers should come prepared for forecasted weather conditions and ready to work outdoors. Close-toed shoes are required. Pants preferred. Gloves, hats, cooling towels, etc. can be helpful.
