• Each volunteer will need to attend an orientation at 9:45 just before heading out for their first route.

Description

For a guaranteed route, you will need to receive a confirmation text or email from the Mobile Meals Volunteer Coordinator (not just from Serve UTK). Please register at least 24 hours in advance. 

Mobile Meals delivers to over 1,100 homebound seniors daily Monday – Friday to every zip code in Knox County. Volunteers deliver a hot lunchtime meal that, along with the daily safety check, helps to keep individuals safe and healthy longer in their own home, where they want to be. We need over 100 volunteers to deliver meals each weekday. 

Deliveries take place between 10am-1pm, Monday-Friday. Students will earn 4 hours per delivery route and are welcome to bring someone along with them.

After you register you will get an email from the Volunteer Coordinator with details about how to schedule a volunteer opportunity. Only one person per car should register through Serve UTK. We recommend delivering in pairs, but we will approve the hours of up to three passengers.

There is also parking along the curb in front of the building, as well as a large parking lot at the Ed Cothren Pool. Do not park at the loading dock.
