We went for ice cream at Andy's Frozen Custard to celebrate the end of the semester and took a moment to reflect a bit. It was my mentee's first semester at the University of Arkansas, and I hope he feels proud of the work he has done so far. Of course, we finished our meeting with his favorite game UNO!
Another quiet day. I waited while he finished up some stuff for Spring registration, then we played Uno. We talked a little bit about school and the upcoming holidays. Our meeting was cut short because something came up and his mom had to pick him up early.
Today was a quiet, chill day. He got a new Uno deck, and we played Uno Flip the entire time.
Today my mentee and I compared our experiences with neurodivergence, our reactions to different situations, and how we overcome challenges. We talked about how therapy, practicing mindfulness, or reframing negative thoughts can be helpful for some people. We both have a lot of empathy and curiosity about other people's life experiences.
We went to McDonalds with one of my mentee's friends. We talked about our Halloween traditions, learning how to drive, and the technological advances we've seen in fast food restaurants lately.
