About
Community Connections is a volunteer based program where volunteers are matched one-on-one with homebound older adults. Volunteers commit to serving the participant one time per week for 2-3 hours each time. During that time they provide transportation services to necessary errands such as medical appointments, grocery shopping, the bank, pharmacy etc. Volunteers also provide socialization, a crucial service to prevent isolation in home bound older adults. During their time together we encourage things like going for walks, out to lunch, going for a drive, playing games, doing puzzles, etc. Anything that the volunteer and participant might enjoy doing together. Volunteers are donating their time, but we offer gas mileage reimbursement. We would love to answer any questions you might have!
Volunteers are required to meet with the Program Coordinator for an orientation and complete a fingerprinting appointment.
