Convict Hill Trails Day

About

This is a small, scenic park that helps preserve the history of Austin; limestone from the area was quarried and transported by rail to help build the Texas State Capitol building in downtown Austin. The park is kept in a more natural state, with trails, native plants, and lots of wildlife; we sometimes see small foxes running through the park, hear the birds singing, and encounter other wildlife. The goal has been to preserve the natural beauty, but not allow the park to become an overgrown, weedy lot. So, we need to maintain it by adding lots of mulch to the trails and removing some weeds that have grown too close to the trails. Please sign up to volunteer if you can. We often have families, including small children, coming out to help and we really appreciate everyone who volunteers. Please bring a wheelbarrow or yard cart if you happen to have one.

The park is on the south side of Convict Hill, but please park on the north side, as there is designated parking there.
