Help an elementary student learn to read - be a Reading Partners tutor!

Open Opportunity

About

About Reading Partners:

One hour per week minimum commitment. Use our lesson plans to help a Kindergarten through 5th-grade student learn to read on grade level. Training is provided, and an on-site program coordinator will provide support and ongoing coaching. You will work with the same student each week and watch them grow!

Flexible volunteer times on Monday-Thursday between 8 am and 3 pm. You can choose from any of our 12 Union Public School Locations to tutor in person.

Requirements:

  • Attend a tutor orientation to be trained as a volunteer - no previous teaching/tutoring experience required!

  • Must be 14+ years old

  • (If 18+ years old) Complete an annual background check (at no cost to you)

  • In-person Tutors - Must have their own transportation

Please sign up here to take your next step to becoming a Reading Partner!

Our students will inspire you! Rigorous research has proven that Reading Partners’ students significantly increase their reading proficiency while in the program. In fact, in 2019, 85% of all Reading Partners students met or exceeded their primary end-of-year growth goals.
