About
The Zoo Atlanta Volunteer team is looking for volunteers to assist with our annual Boo at the Zoo Halloween event.
Volunteers may greet visitors, hand out treats, assist with crafts and carnival games, guide our costume characters around the Zoo, or otherwise help us provide a spooktacular experience for guests of all ages. For more information about the event, visit our website: https://zooatlanta.org/event/boo-at-the-zoo/. Attire: Merry not scary - costumes are optional but encouraged! If you do not wear a costume, please wear Halloween themed clothing in orange and black. All costumes must be family friendly. Depending on the weather, dress in layers.
Volunteer Shifts Options (each day):
Sat. Oct. 23, Sun. Oct. 24, Sat. Oct. 30 & Sun. Oct. 31
Morning | 8:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Afternoon | 11:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Please note that all volunteers will gather in the Education building for orientation prior to heading out to their assignments. Orientation is built into the times available. Please make sure your groups arrive prior to the time listed above.

Wondering if you should register to volunteer? Based on the CDC guidelines, we are asking you the following questions:
- Have you been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19? See the CDC’s risk assessment guidance.
- Do you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19? Symptoms can include a cough or shortness of breath or at least two of the following: Fever, Chills, Repeated shaking with chills, Muscle pain, Headache, Sore throat, New loss of taste or smell. See the CDC’s symptom information.
Perks
This is a fun and exciting volunteer opportunity. Volunteers will get the opportunity to see lots of fun Halloween costumes and be around the Zoo animals while volunteering.
Parking Details
Parking lots are available in Grant Park along Boulevard Ave and Cherokee Ave. Additional parking information will be sent to those who sign up to volunteer for this event.
