About
AS OF 3/24 WE HAVE RUN OUT OF AVAILABLE TIME SLOTS FOR SCHEDULING EVENTS SPECIFICALLY FOR LARGE GROUPS OR ORGANIZATIONS.
If you wish to still volunteer with us, please visit our Plant the Palouse event! You are free to sign up as a group there as well, the only difference is that other members of the public will be joining in the event. We apologize for any inconvenience, and hope that you will still join us at our events.
We welcome large groups or organizations to volunteer with us! If your group is interested in volunteering with the PCD as an organization, please have one representative register to this event.
Upon completing the questionnaire, we will reach out to your group contact to establish a date(s) and time(s) that work best for your group to come outside and volunteer with the PCD. Once details are sorted out, we will create a private event for your group to register to.
All group members are responsible for upholding PCD volunteer rules and guidelines, as well as signing necessary forms such as our volunteer liability waiver and the COVID-19 attestation form. If one or more group members fail to adhere to PCD rules or refuse to honestly answer the COVID-19 attestation form, your group may be barred from participating in PCD volunteer events in the future.
At our volunteer events, you can be expected to be working outside, rain, snow or shine, with our field staff to further projects including planting, removing mulch fabric, or getting rid of invasive plants. We require all participants have a form of transportation and show up wearing closed-toe shoes that you don't mind getting dirty (Crocs are not closed-toe). Participants are encouraged to wear a mask when social distancing of at least 6 feet is not possible. Surgical masks will be available. We recommend all participants wear long pants, dress appropriately for the weather, and bring water and/or snacks. Some weather gear (such as raincoats and boots) may be available at events, but don't count on us having the stock or gear in your size, so bring your own if you have it.
We have something for everyone, regardless of skill level and physical ability. Please be forthcoming if any participants in your group rely on mobility devices, as some of our restoration sites are not accessible to certain devices. We can work to find a site that everyone can participate at for your event.
We will provide tools, water, and gloves for your group. You must provide your own transportation for all parties. We will have extra face masks and some weather gear available, but as stated above, bring your own if you have it, because we may not have enough for everyone, or gear in your size.
If you have any questions about this opportunity, message or email Sam Schroeder at AmeriCorps1@palousecd.org
