About
A volunteer event just for the WSU chapter of Phi Sigma Kappa If you are not a member of Phi Sigma Kappa, but interested in volunteering with us, please return to our page on GivePulse and sign up for one of our public volunteer events. Please read the following:
Join Palouse Conservation District (PCD) to help improve water quality along Palouse's streams and create habitat by planting native trees and shrubs, removing mulch fabric, and eliminating invasive plants! Volunteers will have an opportunity to get their hands dirty and give back to the Palouse at various sites along the Bill Chipman Palouse Trail. This is a free, socially distanced, family-friendly event.
Participants are encouraged to wear a mask when social distancing of at least 6 feet is not possible. Surgical masks will be available.
Be prepared to work outside in varying weather conditions including rain, snow or shine. Dress appropriately for the weather, including sturdy shoes or boots. Volunteers will be walking on uneven terrain in tall grass. Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required. We recommend shoes you don’t mind getting dirty. Crocs or sandals are not closed-toe. Limited gear (such as raincoats and boots) may be available to borrow at events, but don't count on us having the stock or gear in your size, so bring your own. Contact the event organizer ahead of time if you want to borrow gear.
Participants are responsible for their own form of transportation to and from the site. Carpooling is encouraged when possible. We may move to a different site than our meeting spot via car, so have transportation available.
Water will be available on site but a water bottle and/or snacks are recommended.
We recommend all participants show up 10 minutes early to complete forms and waivers.
PCD will provide tools, water, and gloves for participants.
If participants cannot comply with requirements such as not wearing proper attire or refusing to wear a mask properly, participants will be asked to leave. Thank you for keeping our community safe and healthy!
