About
Casa Marianella is an emergency shelter for adult immigrants.
Opportunities
Assistant case managers and assist in managing the shelter.
Resident Mentor: Develop a friendship with specific residents and learn from each resident's cultural norms and stories to build mutual understanding and respect. This may involve a longer term commitment.
ESL classes: Teach ESL to residents and community members one night a week from 7 – 9pm. Orientation and training required.
ESL Tutoring: Tutor residents in English skills needed for employment applications and interviews. Help with Conversational English tutoring with a group of residents or one-on-one.
Office Aide: Spend three hours a week helping answer calls and handing out mail in the office. During this time students will also be available to provide special attention to people who need help with applications or forms. Spanish language skill required.
