About
We require assistance with bird care tasks. If you are unable to perform a specific task, we'll gladly find an alternative for you!
One or more of the things you may be asked to do:
-
Dust TVs, tops, and table surfaces; utilize a broom for room corners (acknowledging the importance of dusting for birds with sensitive respiratory systems).
-
Refill spray bottles
-
Wipe down windows
-
Light to Deep cage cleaning inside
-
Pulling cages outside to deep clean and shower parrots
-
Sweeping and mopping
-
Clean the bathrooms
Advisements:
-
Taking videos and/or pictures from within the rescue is not allowed.
-
Parrots can and will bite to protect their cage. Keep your fingers away from them, no matter how they charm or entice you to “shake” hands. This will be enforced!
-
Don’t touch or lean on the birds’ cages unless directed to do so with your job.
-
Minimize distracting and/or loud noises such as your cell phone, chewing gum, or jewelry.
-
Keep your voice “soft” and there is no need to raise your voice since they can hear very well.
-
No hats should be worn around the birds since they universally react to them.
- Must sign release and NDA forms
-
Flexibility, positive attitude, ability to work around noisy birds calmly
-
Maintain focus on tasks; socializing with birds permitted during designated breaks
-
Collaboration skills; ability to work independently
- Closed-toe shoes required (sneakers accepted, no flip-flops)
Reward of helping to socialize a parrot in preparation for their new home
