About
ECU's Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement and Campus Living cordially invite you and/or your organizations to serve as volunteers for the Fall 2024 Move-In. Fall Move-In will take place starting Wednesday, August 14th through Friday, August 16th. Volunteering with us is an incredible opportunity to introduce your organization to a fresh population of new and returning students.
Volunteers assist residents as they arrive at their new campus homes by carrying boxes, answering general ECU questions, and providing directions. We welcome individual volunteers and groups of volunteers from student organizations, campus departments and the local community. We can accommodate any size group!
Responsibilities of General Volunteers will include:
- Assisting students and families moving items from vehicles directly to residence hall rooms
- Use of elevators and climbing stairs are expected
- Greeting and engaging with students and families
- Answering general questions
- Require light to moderate lifting and physical activity
IF YOU ARE REGISTERING A GROUP, please pay close attention to these details and instructions.
If you are a part of a registered Club Sport or Fraternity/Sorority organization, please contact:
- Club Sports, please email Chris Riddle at riddlec21@ecu.edu
- Fraternities and/or Sororities, please email Chris Cooper at cooperch14@ecu.edu
For other student groups, campus departments, or community organizations, there are two ways to register a group via this registration:
Step 1: Collect the first & last name(s) of each member volunteering, along with their email. While registering you can sign them up via this registration. But it is important to have their name and email.
OR
Step 2: Have each member sign up via this link/registration. You can send it to them electronically via email or have them download the GivePulse app on their phone. In the registration form, please identify which group you are with, therefore we can place you together.
What To Wear: Either wear a t-shirt representing your organization, ECU, or continue filling out this form to list your t-shirt size. Please wear closed-toed shoes and comfortable clothing, while also preparing for weather.
What to Bring: A smile and a water bottle! It will most likely be warm and we want you to stay hydrated. Water stations will be throughout the neighborhoods. If working the full day(s), please ensure you take breaks and/or bring food.
Daily Schedule: Please feel free to select one or both shifts for one or more days. Each day will have two shifts, a morning (8-12) and afternoon (12-5) shift. If you are working a full day, please have some of your team members leave early and bring lunch to consume during the 12-1.
