Community Action Center (CCE Transportation Provided)

Organizational Information: 

The Community Action Centers mission is moving people and communities to a positive future throughout Whitman County. Volunteers are seen as the heroes of the Community Action Center. Some of the areas they assist people with are Energy & Weatherization, Housing & Assistance, Community Food, Emergency Services, Early Child Development, Legal Info, and Transportation Assistance. 

Opportunity Description:  

Are you really strong and into weight lifting? Do you have good organization skills? Student volunteers will assist with preparing for the week’s food distributions, going through any donations, and organizing the food bank.

Days/Times: 

Transportation will be provided. Please meet at CUB L45 at 10:45 AM to meet with your group. We plan to return to campus around 12:15 PM.

Requirements: 

Service hours are allocated based on amount of direct service participation and do not include meeting time and transportation to/from the service site. Students should plan to receive 1.5 hours of service for this project. All students are advised to bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothing.

Cancellation Policy:

 Participants can unregister on GivePulse up to 24 hours before the scheduled project start time. Please let CCE staff know if you are unable to participate if it is within 24 hours of the project meeting time. The CCE has a strict No Show Policy. After 2 No Shows students will be unable to participate in CCE-led Projects for the rest of the semester
