Spillman Farms (CCE- Transportation Provided)

Organizational Information
Spillman Agronomy Farm was developed in 1955 by Dr. Orville Vogel, the third wheat breeder at WSU. The farm was purchased through a novel combination of state, private industry, and grower money. Many of the highest producing wheats in the Pacific Northwest today were developed at Spillman Agronomy Farm. In addition to wheat, the Spillman Agronomy Farm has also served as the foundation for barley and legume breeding programs that have provided significant additional economic returns to Washington farmers since 1955.

Opportunity Description
Come help harvest apples at the Spillman Farm!!  A great way to get outside, see the farm, and meet new people.  Please wear pants and closed-toe shoes.  Come out anytime during the afternoon to lend a hand. 

Days/Times
Transportation will be provided. Please meet at CUB L45 at 1:45 PM to meet with your group. We plan to return to campus around 5:15 PM. 

Requirements

Service hours are allocated based on the amount of direct service participation and do not include meeting time and transportation to/from the service site. Students should plan to receive 2.5 hours of service for this project. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Closed-toed shoes are required. All students are advised to bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothing.  Must wear pants in the field! 

Cancellation Policy
Participants can unregister on GivePulse up to 24 hours before the scheduled project start time. Please let CCE staff know if you are unable to participate if it is within 24 hours of the project meeting time. The CCE has a strict No-Show Policy. After 2 No Shows students will be unable to participate in CCE-led Projects for the rest of the semester.
