Family Friendly Volunteer Day!

We do have evening hours available the First Tuesday of each month (unless there is a holiday) and we would love for you to join us! Space is limited so be sure to sign up as soon as you can. As always, our main focus is packing (providing programs with pre-packed bags that can be handed out drive-thru style) and produce sorting. There may be additional tasks if all orders are filled and items sorted.

We will also be hosting our Second Harvest Warehouse Food Distribution on-site from 5-7PM June, July, and August. We will need volunteers to help direct traffic and pass out food into cars during these events. Individuals who volunteer are welcome to take their allotment of food (the amount we pass out to cars) at the beginning, to help incentivize volunteering for this event.

There is a wait list available if registration is currently full (be sure to select “waitlist” during registration).

Please note: if you are a student PLEASE REGISTER WITH YOUR SCHOOL EMAIL!!! if you don't, you could be creating duplicate accounts and will not see all of your impacts on 1 account! If you think you might already have multiple accounts because of this- Please contact GivePulse admin to have your accounts merged- we can not do that for you (GP Tips and support)

Minors should not be registered on-line and will need a paper waiver with parent/legal guardian information/signature. If you would like to book a time for your family or group to come in, please call so that we can find the right time and day for you.

Requirement Details

Volunteers must wear closed toed shoes, pants, and clothes fit for warehouse work.
Please do not come if you are ill or have symptoms of an illness. (This is important because you will be working with others and boxing food for potentially health-compromised neighbors)
Make sure you bring weather appropriate clothing. The community room and warehouse often is warmer/colder, reflecting the outside weather.

Perks

This volunteer opportunity will provide experience in packing foods, cleaning, life skills, information about food scarcity and the function of the facility (with a tour), gardening (seasonal), organizing, and sometimes food prep.

Parking Details

We have a parking lot in front of the main office.
When you arrive to the office, you will be checking in at the iPads. Find your name and simply swipe right to clock in. There are instructions on the table, but from there you will wash your hands in the restroom and go into the community room to await the Volunteer Coordinator.
