Volunteer Instructors & Mentors Needed – Empower Local Youth!

Organization: Volunteers for Youth of Orange County
Location: Chapel Hill/Carrboro & Hillsborough, NC
Commitment: Flexible | In-person | 18+

Join us in shaping the next generation of leaders through our VFY Life Labs and Teen Court Mentorship Program! Volunteers for Youth partners with local organizations to host many of our labs and workshops — providing an accessible, community-centered space where youth can learn, grow, and connect.

We’re seeking passionate, skilled adults (ages 18 and up) who can share their experience and knowledge in the following areas:

💼 Resume Building 101

Help youth build confidence and career readiness by teaching them how to craft professional resumes, identify strengths, and prepare for future opportunities.
This lab will be held on the 3rd Thursday of each month.

💵 Financial Literacy

Guide teens through the essentials of budgeting, saving, and smart spending. Encourage real-world financial literacy through one of our engaging, interactive labs.
All 3 labs are held on Tuesdays each month. Each class runs 1x a month. Location TBD

⚖️ Teen Court Mentorship Program

Support justice-involved youth in building accountability, confidence, and positive decision-making skills. We are especially seeking male mentors to help balance representation and provide strong role models within the program.
This position will require a brief training and occasional attendance at Teen Court sessions that have qualified youth for the mentorship program. Locations will be at the Orange County Courthouse and Pittsboro Courthouse depending on cases.
