MLK Day of Service 2026

MLK Day of Service - Monday, January 19th, 11:30 AM - 4:30 PM

The UM Center for Community Engagement is organizing a Day of Service. This event is being held to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

On this day, students, faculty, and staff will join forces alongside community members as voluntary participants in service projects throughout the Oxford/Lafayette area. Through active participation in the community and intentional relationship building, the MLK Day of Service seeks to continue Dr. King’s legacy of love, service, and community.

Check-in will begin at 11:30 AM at the Jackson Avenue Center (1111 Jackson Ave W, Oxford, MS 38655).

Groups seeking to volunteer together should use the "Request Reservation Button" to register as a group.

The first 150 registrants will be given priority for free t-shirts. Volunteers should plan to wear long pants and closed-toed shoes.

Not a UM faculty, staff, or student? You may be prompted to use the Ole Miss Single-Sign-On system when registering. Those without an Ole Miss email address should click the text that says "click for more options." You will then be prompted to sign in using other means or create an account using any email address. We welcome volunteers regardless of their UM affiliation status.

Volunteers under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Volunteers under the age of 18 will require a parent or guardian's signature on the volunteer release form. The form can be downloaded here and filled out before attending the event. Please bring the filled-out form with you to check-in.

For questions or troubleshooting help, please email engaged@olemiss.edu or call 662-915-3195.

Registration will close on January 14 at 11:59 PM.

Your group assignment and volunteer site will be announced by January 16th.
