About

Join us for a Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) Public Square on the issue of wind farms on the Palouse.

The issue of wind farms has generated significant attention across the country. The matter has been even more salient here on the Palouse, with Palouse Wind currently operating in Whitman County, and a controversial proposed Harvest Hills Wind Project currently under consideration nearby. The Palouse Wind farm has 58 turbines and generates 105 megawatts. Proponents of the proposed Harvest Hills point to increased tax revenue and jobs in support of the project, while its detractors are concerned about its impact on the landscape, wildlife, and property values.

CCE's Public Square program aims to connect WSU students, employees and community members through discussion on important issues that affect our community.  The moderated discussion will focus on what WSU is doing to reduce food waste and facilitate food recovery.

All CCE Public Square events are free and open to the public. Everyone is welcome to share their thoughts on the discussion topic in a respectful way, as time allows.

As with all Public Square discussions, we want to hear from you--this workshop only works with the interactive participation of audience members--so come with questions!
