Summer Family Pal

Camp just opened a new location in Queenstown, Maryland, and we are hosting 8 Family Camps in our 2026 inaugural season. These are 3-5 day programs for children typically aged 5-15 who are diagnosed with serious illnesses, as well as their families. Camp programs are intended to let these children "raise a little hell" while so much of their lives are dictated by their health and medical condition. It is a chance for parents and caregivers to take a break, and for families to build community together.

Family Pals are volunteers paired with campers and their families to act as a guide and primary resource for them throughout the weekend. Pals help keep families on schedule, lead them through camp and to program areas, and support them by building relationships and teaching them about camp.

Please note, because we work with children with various health conditions, all residential volunteers must complete a background check and submit a medical form before being accepted.
