About
With our partner Sleep in Heavenly Peace, we've received 82 bed requests for kids in Lafayette County without beds, we've built and delivered 35 beds, and now have enough beds built that we should be able to meet the rest of our outstanding requests (or very close).
We're organizing 4 opportunities to deliver beds to families that we'd love your help with (Saturday July 25th from 8:30am-12pm, Monday July 27th from 5:30-9pm, Monday August 3rd from 5:30-9, and August 8th from 8:30-12), and Saturday August 15th (1:15-4:45).
In addition to our Delivery Manager, we need up to 4 volunteers to join each delivery. Kids are welcome. If your family or group has more than 4 people, let us know and we should be able to work it out.
We just want to avoid bringing an insane number of people into a family's home, but we can figure out solutions like organizing a delivery opportunity just for your family too :)
Message us on this event page if you have any special considerations like this or if your church/company/civic group would be interested in having several delivery groups go out on the same day.
We'll need to organize additional delivery opportunities as well to meet our outstanding requests, so this would be awesome.
Here’s a video where you can see what deliveries are like. They're a super meaningful experience as you'll find out if you haven't done one yet.
We meetup at our storage unit at 405 CR 101 and load up our cars with the beds, mattresses, bedding etc. If you have space in your car or truck to fit materials, it's very helpful but not required in order to serve!
