Austin PRIDE Parade Cleanup with Austin Resource Recovery
During the annual Austin PRIDE Parade, there is a lot of nontraditional items from trash and recycling that get thrown onto the street. The event is expected to bring in over 100,000 attendees and the parade draws in over 50 participants and hundreds of float riders. In an effort to collect and divert some of the parade material out of the local landfill, Austin Resource Recovery is seeking volunteers to help collect material (i.e. fans, beads, flags) along the parade route. All collected material will be donated to Austin Creative Reuse. The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 22nd.

What to bring: A FULL bottle of water and sunscreen are strongly recommended
Please Note: Comfortable shoes and clothes are recommended. Safety equipment and collection supplies will be provided. Parking and day of details will be confirmed the week of the event.
Youth Volunteers: All volunteers under the age of 18 must be registered by a parent or legal guardian. A parent or legal guardian must register and attend with the youth volunteer. Independent registrations submitted by minors are not permitted.
Pet Policy: For safety and liability reasons, pets are not permitted at volunteer events. Service animals are welcome.
A NOTE ON SAFETY: We encourage you to “See and Be Seen!” Be mindful of your fellow volunteers and maintain awareness of your surroundings at all times. Dial 911 in case of emergency.
