Whitman County Humane Society - CCE-LED PROJECT TRANSPORTATION PROVIDED (No Personal Transportation)

Sunday, September 6th from 1:30pm to Sunday, November 15th, 2026 4:30pm

About

Organizational Information
Whitman County Humane Society is a non-profit animal shelter. They are a no-kill shelter and provide many services to the community. Some of the services they provide are a dog park, adoption center, pet food bank, and affordable spay/neuter program.

Opportunity Description
Do you like interacting with animals? Students will be helping with deep cleaning dog runs and other general cleanings around the shelter. This includes but is not limited to cleaning blankets, toys, kennels, and possibly washing dishes. We will be cleaning and possibly working around animals so please wear appropriate clothing.

Some bonuses are interacting with the sweet dogs and cats at the shelter and sometimes walking the dogs!

Days/Times
Transportation will be provided. Please meet at the CUB L45 at 1:30 PM to meet with your group. We plan to return to campus around 4:30 PM.

Requirements

Service hours are allocated based on the amount of direct service participation and do not include meeting time and transportation to/from the service site. The use of personal transportation will not be allowed, and hours will not be recorded for time spent on service site. Students should plan to receive 2.5 hours of service for this project. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Closed-toed shoes are required. All students are advised to bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothing.

Cancellation Policy
Participants can unregister on GivePulse up to 24 hours before the scheduled project start time. Please let CCE staff know if you are unable to participate if it is within 24 hours of the project meeting time. The CCE has a strict No-Show Policy. After 2 No Shows students will be unable to participate in CCE-led Projects for the rest of the semester.
