Tabling in front of the union was very fun. Because I had signed up for the last shift, all the donuts were gone. Once the food was gone it was harder to get people to listen about hazing prevention. We still had some buttons, so I handed those out!
Got to make a lot of people smile when they received the unexpected donut or coffee. And it was fun convincing people whole thought they didn’t need the coffee too.
I attended Donuts and Button downs and encouraged students to stop from hazing and get free donuts and coffee.
This event was early in the morning, so everyone did not seem enthusiastic when they walked by us. However, their mood took a whole 180 when we offered them free coffee and donuts!! I felt the same way when I got there and got to eat a donut. Even towards the end when we ran out of donuts people still got excited for the buttons! The button idea was one of my favorite thing, because we would draw people in with the free stuff then we got to spread awareness through the buttons. Now I get to walk around campus and occasionally see those buttons on people's backpacks and know that I was a part of that. I think this is what it truly feels like to be "a part of something bigger than me."
