My hands-on work of distributing bag lunches helped the larger community by giving people going through difficult times a meal for the day. I provided services to the impoverished and homeless. Everyone I came into contact with was excited to have lunch. My service was in keeping with my personal convictions to improve my community and assist those in need. Knowing that I was able to give someone in unfortunate circumstances a basic need made the experience both tremendously fulfilling and humbling for me. Memphis Rox is a mainstay in the neighborhood and, for many, a home away from home. I also learned that the community is quite close-knit. I intend to carry on volunteering at Memphis Rox because of the love shared there, it was truly a blessing to see so many smiles. I am happy that I was able to be a part of such a wonderful event.

My direct service, passing out sack lunches, benefited the broader community, in particular those who are suffering a hardships, by providing them with lunch for the day. I served homeless and less fortunate people in the city of Memphis. The people I encountered were very thrilled to have lunch. My service aligned with my personal beliefs because the bible teaches believers to give. I not only gave my time, I also poured out hope and love. I learned that the community is very close knit and Memphis Rox is a staple in the community and for many it is a home away from home. I plan to continue volunteer at Memphis Rox because of the love shared there, it was truly a blessing see so many smiles. I am happy that I was able to be apart of such a wonderful event
