I came with my girlfriend and 3 other students as volunteers at the finish line and the beginning of the course. Being a freshman, it was refreshing to participate in a community service act in the heart of the city my school is from. The energy from the people of the marathon was exuberant, even in the morning! Their determination to complete the race was inspiring especially as I was guiding and cheering them on. Overall, a great experience.
I went with 3 other students and we all help assist runners on directions of their course by directing 1/2 marathoners one way and 5kers the other way. It was cool viewing the event, the vibes everyone had as they were running by. It felt good knowing that I had a part in making the experience for the runners good that day since I saw their faces light up when I told them that they were right next to the finish line. It was really fun and I would do it again
It was nice to support the community in an event that promotes better health for all its participants.
