When it came tot he topic of code switching and fitting in, I felt it was a great conversation because everyone at one point in their life has tried to fit in certain groups especially when they were young. Code Switching is something people often do appear more presentable to the people they are trying to get accepted by, and this is something I have personally done before. These are all realistic topics that people experiences and I felt that is what made the session interesting.
It was a great event, and we met a lot of new people through the activity we did. Learning more about code-switching has made me aware that it does not only happen in the workplace but also can happen in your personal life with family or friends.
I enjoyed the talk about mental health. I like how the college is creating awareness on important issues such as imposter syndrome and all. Love to see more!
This session made us reflect on switching codes and imposter syndrome. We did a kahoot, and for the most part, the majority of us knew what code switching was. Most of us code switch in areas like school and public events.
I thought it was an interesting topic for the meeting. I definitely learned some new things. I also enjoyed the ice breaker where we shared photos it was nice to meet new people and get to know them. I also enjoyed the kahoot we played.
I enjoyed this scholarship a lot, learning about imposter syndrome and the other information, I also enjoyed connecting with other students and engaging with them.
I enjoyed learning about these experiences that others struggle with as it shows that I'm not alone. Although there were technical difficulties on the 2nd of April's session, I joined the one on wednesday and that one went well.
