I learned a lot about women’s history, but the stuff I was interested in the most was about the history of women’s voting like how some females didn’t want the right to vote or how some people didn’t want females to vote because they felt like married men would have 2 votes.
My review on the Virtual Guided Tour of the National Women's History Museum was very interesting. My reflection is that women were against suffrage and they wanted the right to vote. I also learned that the National Women's History Museum was founded in 1996. My feedback is that I would like to have a transcript for the virtual tour so I could understand it better.
I had attended the women history museum virtual tour today and started off strong with a question “why do you think people protest?”, I saw a lot of really good amount of responses but I most agreed with “we want to change something to our society”. I learned that states would want to increase settlement and would establish women voting right to increase settlement. I also discovered when the NAWFA (National American Woman suffrage association) was founded in 1869. Unfortunately, African American women were usually excluded from suffrages associations. I did not know that there were OPPOSED woman suffrages groups ran by men even having their own headquarters. We were presented images and had time to break them down with their meaning.
Learning about the women's suffrage movement was incredibly fascinating. The National Woman's History Museum's virtual tour was incredibly educational.
