Borrow Smart, Succeed Big!: Funding Your Education Wisely (mini-session)

During this event they taught us how to maintain debt free while in college. They went over financial aids, scholarships, grants, and smart borrowing. The kinds of scholarships they introduced to us are southern management leadership program, board of trustees legacy and local impact grant. We as students must maintain a GPA of 2.5 and submit FASFA yearly. This information was important because it will help us in the future.

I enjoyed this session. Mr Cruz is pretty good at explaining financial and budgeting topics. There were some cool interactive activities that I see myself actually using. It was a pretty good event overall.

Very informative and this session gave me good pointers and how responsibly obtain a loan if need be. As well as help me better distinguish the differences between grants and scholarships. It helped clear somethings up and helped me grow my knowledge in areas.
