My Oriantation. I learned hoe to tag, steam and sort clothes.
I volunteered at Thrift Out where I helped organize books and games in the kids section and also helped organize clothes in the back. I spent most of my time putting kids clothes on hangers and sorting them by size so it would be easier for people to find what they were looking for. Since it was my first time volunteering there, I had to learn how everything worked and where things went. I enjoyed being able to help out and do something useful for the community. This experience showed me how even small tasks like organizing clothes and keeping things in order can make a difference. It also helped me understand how important volunteers are for keeping places like this running smoothly. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and thought it was a good opportunity to give back to the community while learning something new.
I volunteered at Thrift Out, where I helped organize books and games in the kids’ area and worked on organizing the clothing racks in the back. I put children’s clothing on hangers and sorted the clothes by size to make it easier for customers and employees to find what they needed. Since I was new to volunteering there and was learning how everything was organized, it was nice to be able to help out wherever I was needed and become more comfortable with the store and the process. This experience was especially meaningful to me because I was involved in Eco-Fashion Club in high school, where I helped promote sustainability and the importance of giving clothing a second life. Volunteering at a thrift store allowed me to continue something I was passionate about in high school while also contributing to my community. I enjoyed being able to stay involved with clothing and sustainability while helping make the store more organized and welcoming for customers.
