Walking in the GSO CROP Walk to Combat Hunger at Barber Park with Nia Grant and Nadia Wright was a meaningful experience. It felt good to be part of something bigger than myself, surrounded by people who all came together to support a cause that truly matters. The energy there was positive and hopeful, and it reminded me how small actions—like walking a few miles—can actually make a difference when everyone contributes.
As we walked, I thought about the people in our community who face hunger every day. It’s easy to take something like food for granted, but being part of this event made me more aware of how many families struggle with it. Knowing that the money and awareness raised from this walk help provide meals and resources gave me a deeper sense of purpose.
I also appreciated sharing the experience with Nia and Nadia. We talked, laughed, and reflected along the way—it made the walk more personal. It reminded me that community service isn’t just about showing up; it’s about connecting, understanding, and helping others in whatever way you can.
Overall, the CROP Walk reminded me how powerful unity and compassion are. It pushed me to keep finding ways to serve and to never forget how important it is to give back, even through something as simple as walking together for a cause.
Me and my friends were super tired after the walk but it was a fun way to fight for hunger!
