Miracle League was an amazing opportunity to make a real impact with both kids and adults involved . We supported players as buddies, helping them from base to base and cheering them on every step of the way. Connecting with participants was the best part, so many smiles and meaningful moments made it truly special!
For my community service assignment, I signed up to volunteer and help with the Miracle League. I was a buddy which meant I was paired up with someone with special needs who played in the games. There were two games and I had a total of 3 buddies, Brenden, Carson, and Slade. My role was to help them bat, run the bases, stay engaged, and also encourage them to make sure everyone had a fun time. Everyone there running the event worked really well together and the other volunteers and coaches were very supportive and helped make this event run very smoothly. This event is connected to my values because I very much enjoy helping others and being able to make a difference. It also helped me build communication as well as leadership skills by learning how to be able to adapt to different personalities. While being there, I learned that the Miracle League’s mission is more than just baseball and that it’s also about inclusion, giving everyone a chance to participate. This experience will help me in the future by reminding me to lead with empathy and create environments where everyone feels valued.
Volunteering at the Miracle League is always such a meaningful experience to me. During the event, I served as a buddy, assisting players throughout the game of baseball. In the first game, I assisted Maddy, helping her run the bases, play catch, enjoy the experience, and dance a little. In the second game, I supported Zachary offering guidance as needed. My responsibilities focused on ensuring both players felt confident, included, and supported.
One of the most impactful aspects of the experience was observing how everyone there worked together seamlessly to create a positive and inclusive environment. The volunteers, families, and organizers all helped make this game memorable. Everyone shared a common goal of making the players feel valued. I think that teamwork was an essential part in achieving that goal.
This experience strongly connected to my personal values of spreading positivity and finding purpose in activities I enjoy. It allowed me to combine my love for baseball with making a positive impact on others. It also gave me a deeper appreciation for organizations that prioritize equal opportunities for all individuals. The Miracle League’s mission to provide a safe and enjoyable space for people of all abilities was evident throughout the event.
Overall, this experience reinforced the importance of leadership through service. It showed me that effective leadership in business and life involves understanding others’ needs, fostering inclusion, and contributing positively to the community.
Volunteering with the Miracle League softball program was a rewarding and eye-opening experience. During my time there, I assisted players with hitting, running the bases, and staying engaged throughout the game. I also helped encourage participation and made sure each player felt included and supported, regardless of their ability level.
One of the most impactful things I noticed was how well everyone worked together to create a positive environment. Volunteers, coaches, and family members all communicated effectively and stepped in to help whenever needed. Challenges, such as mobility limitations or communication barriers, were handled with patience and teamwork, ensuring every player could fully participate.
This experience strongly connects to my values of inclusion, teamwork, and leadership. It also aligns with my interest in working in business and sports, where creating positive experiences for others is important. I gained a deeper understanding of the organization’s mission to provide opportunities for individuals with special needs to enjoy sports in a supportive setting.
Overall, this experience reinforced the importance of empathy, adaptability, and strong leadership. It has influenced how I view leadership in my future career, showing me that success is not just about results, but about creating an environment where everyone feels valued and included.
At Miracle League, I had the opportunity to help out some kids participate in a baseball game. This involved cheering them on, running the bases with them, or simply playing tag with them in the outfield. I was able to have the same "buddy" as a few other guys and we learned what we needed to do in order for our buddy to have the best time possible. This experience really connected with my values because we as a Christian, we are supposed to help those in need, and that is what I was able to do with Miracle League. I was able to learn how the community comes together to make sure these kids have the best time and how organized everything was, which is just a testament to how well this program is run. This allows me to take away how important leadership is in all facets, whether it's business or non-profit work. Overall, I had an absolute blast helping out with Miracle League and will definitely be doing it again
I had the great opportunity to volunteer and help out with miracle league on Saturday, March 28th. I was a buddy who got paired up with a player for each game. We played 2 games and throughout the game I was by my buddies side cheering them on, coaching them, and getting them involved with the other players. It was awesome being able to help my buddies get involved through the game of baseball. It was a blast cheering for all the other players and getting to know them a little bit. This is a major component of my personal values of making sure that less fortunate individuals are able to get involved and be successful. This experience has shaped my future business strategy to have my business support an organization such as Miracle League. It is important to give back to the community and serve in this way, when I have my own business I want to prioritize that. I am thankful that I had the opportunity to serve my community in this way.
