I really enjoyed this meeting and it gave me more insight on how to properly communicate.
During the meeting, Ms. Johnson discussed the main points that we must include when writing an email or sending a voicemail. She then included examples of emails, and students pointed out the errors of those emails. Then 4 students were chosen and were given a scenario to respond to. Ms. Johnson read out the scenario and that student responded and the rest of the students rated the respond.
This activity helped me realize the importance of setting boundaries while still being respectful. At first, I might feel pressured to say yes because I need the money or don’t want to disappoint my boss. But I learned that taking a moment to pause and think helps me respond more clearly. By explaining my situation and offering another option, I can show responsibility without hurting my priorities. This made me feel more confident in handling real-life situations in a mature and professional way. These are what I learned from the meeting activities
We talked about how to send appropriate emails and voicemails. Also what to do if we have something or someone conflicting with our work.
Very great taught me how to be confident towards my professors
