On Friday, we read the book “Ruby Rene Had So Much to Say” to children in grades K- 2nd at Hope Academy. The lesson was about not being afraid of using your voice, even when it’s criticized. For the activity, we had the children write or draw something they like or are passionate about.
On Thursday, we read the book “That’s Not My Name” to children in grades K-2nd at Hope Academy. The lesson was about embracing your name, whether common or unique, and learning how to respond if and when people mispronounce it. We also did an activity where the kids did an acrostic poem, using each letter of their name to write a word or create a drawing describes them.
