About

The Global Unity Network (G.U.N.) is seeking compassionate volunteers to help community members navigate public benefits, including OHP/Medicaid, SNAP, Housing, and DHS/OHA programs.
As a Community Benefits Navigator, you will support underserved families, elders, and individuals by helping them complete applications, gather documents, and understand available services.

This role is flexible, meaningful, and essential to supporting our community.
No prior experience is required, we provide guidance and support.

Volunteer Duties:

  • Assist individuals with Oregon DHS/OHA benefit applications
  • Help clients gather documents and understand program requirements
  • Provide warm, respectful, trauma-informed support
  • Attend optional community outreach events
  • Log service hours through GivePulse

Skills & Requirements:

  • Compassionate and patient communication
  • Basic ability to use phone/tablet/computer
  • Commitment to confidentiality
  • Ability to attend flexible virtual or in-person sessions
