Volunteering at the Good Shepherd Center in Wilmington was a meaningful experience that allowed me to give back to my local community while learning more about the importance of service and teamwork. During my time volunteering, I helped support the organization’s efforts to assist individuals and families experiencing homelessness and other difficult circumstances. Through the tasks I participated in, I saw how important organization, communication, and cooperation are when working toward a shared goal. One thing I noticed was how the staff and volunteers worked together to make sure everyone received the support they needed. Everyone played an important role, and it showed me how even small contributions can make a meaningful difference. I also gained a better understanding of the challenges some members of our community face and how organizations like the Good Shepherd Center provide resources, support, and hope to those in need. This experience connected with my personal values of helping others, being responsible, and making a positive impact. It also reminded me that leadership is not always about being in charge but about being willing to serve and work alongside others. As I continue pursuing my future in business, I hope to carry these lessons with me by becoming a leader who values teamwork, compassion, and community involvement. Overall, volunteering at the Good Shepherd Center gave me a greater appreciation for service and the importance of supporting the community around me.
