    Serving with Smiles

    I was able to serve food to the women and children. I love doing this because I have made so many relationships now with the people there including the staff. It has definitely become a place that I love.

    I have grown to have such a great relationship with this place and these people. I continue to serve dinner to the women and their children, help in the kitchen, and have more interactions with the people at Room in the Inn.

    Mobile Food Pantry

    I was able to pass about boxes of food during the mobile food pantry. I had a lot more interaction with the people who were coming to get food this time because I was the one walking up to the car and asking how many boxes they needed and writing down their information. These people are really in need of food, and I am so glad I could help them and make a small difference in their day.

    I was able to meet the new chef and help her with serving dinner to the moms and their children. It is very sweet to me because I have built relationships with a lot of the residents that live there and the workers. I always leave with a smile on my face!

    I was able to serve mothers and their kids that stay at this shelter. It makes me happy to be able to help those in need and have lots of interaction with the little kids!

    Mobile Food Pantry

    We were able to help pass out boxes of food to those who needed it. They came in like a drive through, and I got to have interaction with them by getting their identification information in order for the Catholic Charities of West TN to help them find the resources they might need. It made me feel like I did something good in the world today and helped those out that really need food to provide for their families.

    I baked 2 dozen cookies, put them in baggies, and wrote inspirational notes on the outside. They were then passed out to college students that were studying or doing homework on campus. It made me happy to be able to do that for other college students because I know how hard the end of the semester can be. Sometimes all you need is a cookie and a happy note to make your work a little bit better.
