I volunteered for the Band research for one hour on November 4th. I got the opportunity to specifically help with the otoscopy portion of the research. This experience helped me to feel a lot more comfortable with using an otoscope and gave me more practice. I also got to perform tympanometry on a couple of the band members that came in. I really enjoyed the hands on practice of what we have been learning about in class.

I helped with hearing screenings for 2 hours at PRISM school. I got the opportunity to do screenings on a wide range of age groups, from Kindergarten to eighth grade. I feel a lot more comfortable with performing screenings on children now that I have had a lot of practice.
I participated in all of the Butterfield Elementary reading buddy assignments throughout the semester. I completed approximately 10 hours considering the time it took to prepare, gather/drive to gather materials, and make the videos.
I attended a hearing screening lab training session at the Epley Center for 1 hour. I learned how to perform hearing screenings so that I would be prepared to help with hearing screenings in schools. I really enjoyed getting to practice using an otoscope on my peers.
