Our group assisted the residents of the home and their families during their Thanksgiving event. We also brought food to residents as well as interacting with them and their families.
Our group cleaned trash throughout the local neighborhoods of Muncie on a trash truck as well as getting a lot of large unnecessary objects out of the alley's of the area. It was a very fulfilling event seeing the changes we had made in one days work.
In this event I prepared a meal at the Muncie mission shelter for the residents who participated while also interacting with the residents who were able to make it to our event. I also donated food from the grocery for the event.
Helped demo houses for the Habitat for Humanity of Muncie. The people involved with this event were very motivated and made it obvious they really wanted to change peoples lives by providing them with a safe home. They also mentioned how recipients of the house also go through multiple meetings teaching them how to successfully live on their own. I was more than happy to be involved with this as well and will be expecting to attend similar events in the future.
I had a wonderful time meeting new fellow peers while raking leaves for the community here in Muncie. One thing I would include for this event in the future is maybe one broom per group to sweep leaves off the driveways and sidewalks with.
Attending the trunk or treat event held by the Boys and Girls Club was a great experience that impacted the children here in the Muncie community. I saw a lot of heart warming smiles from many kids, along with lots of laughter while carrying on conversations with their guardians as well. Very thankful to the Boys and Girls club that I was given a chance to participate in this event.
