Third Street Academy is a private Christian school for boys from PreK through 7th grade. The enrolled students are seen as holistic and created in the image of God, as they focus on their academic excellence, character development, and spiritual formation. The gentlemen start every morning with prayer and devotions before their academic day filled with high-quality teachers, low teacher-to-student ratios, breakfast and lunch, and brotherhood bonds that will last a lifetime. The prayer for every gentleman is that he grows to be an incredible man of God, husband, father, and leader in our community and beyond.
At Third Street Academy I was a volunteer for their Fall Festival! The Fall Festival was an event held for the students of Third Street and their families to come and enjoy food and a variety of games. This event was a time for the parents and families to come and fellowship with the teachers and other parents of the school. I helped set up, navigate, and breakdown a few of the games during this event. It was also a great time to learn more about the students I see during the normal hours that I usually volunteer.

JOY Community Center and Soup Kitchen is the only soup kitchen in Pitt County. Their mission is to establish, organize, operate and promote facilities and services in Pitt County for the benefit of the poor and less fortunate persons. Their primary focus is to deal with food insecurity among the poor and homeless in our community. JOY is able to feed approximately 300 Greenville residents per day and approximately 5000 residents per month. JOY Community Center and Soup Kitchen is located less than 4 minutes from East Carolina University's campus. The volunteering I did with them was helping to prepare and serve approximately 150 dinner plates to the less fortunate local residents at the soup kitchen.
At this virtual meeting we were informed a on what to expect when volunteering with the purple pantry.

JOY hosted a table/booth at the Pitt County fair, and there I helped fundraise for the soup kitchen through selling raffle tickets and interacting with donors. All funds raised in the raffle goes to the food and materials needed for the soup kitchen.
