I am so excited to be gathering donations on behalf of United Way Hands On. The generosity of UAB's Early Learning Center's parents, faculty, and staff are all chipping in to gather needed supplies. Another food drive is happening within the Office of Student Financial Aid where I work just among the employees. Finally, the Graduate School within Lister Hill Library has also agreed to allow me to do food donation collection on the ground floor of the library. All of this amazing community response has been so rewarding to discover!

I have had an amazing time initiating a food drive on behalf of United Way Hands On for their snack packs for kids. I am coordinating with UAB's Early Learning Center to collect items for the food drive and am excited to see how everything goes.

It was kinda hot, so a fan might be nice for next year. Also, my co-volunteer thought to bring her work laptop and that was a lifesaver for several student questions. Might be useful to suggest that volunteers have that next time.

Otherwise, it was a great event, helped lots of student and got to chat with folks on campus. Great engagement.
