I shadowed advocate Anna Francis and intern Scottie throughout the process of a client who was being interviewed. I helped them write a therapy request for the client, and after the client was interviewed I painted their hand and sat with them chatting for about 20 minutes until their mom was done speaking with law enforcement.

There were no clients at the center while I was volunteering so I spent my time watching old interviews from many years ago and sorting out the ones that didn't have disclosures to be shreded.
I spent my time shadowing many different advocates. I watched a forensic interview and helped the interns make parent packets for the clients that were currently at the center.
I read articles given to me by Debbee and Brittany to make up for lost hours due to snow and car troubles.
I shadowed advocate Margarita as she worked as an advocate on a case. I helped her do paperwork, make copies, and I went with her to pick up a child from school who had an interview.
I shadowed iter, Scottie, on her first case as a lead advocate. I helped her do paperwork, interact with the family, and I painted the child's hand to be put on the wall when they left.
I paid for my background check, so I shadowed an advocate (Margarita). I observed her working a case that involved 2 interviews that I was able to watch.
I helped organize a different closet that was full of clothes for clients who visit the center. I also read some old case files.
This was my first time volunteering. I spent my time organizing the back closet full of blankets and toys!
I had an amazing time at the World Food Prize Day event on Friday, February 28, 2020! I loved reading, judging, and giving feedback for all of the papers and presentations about real-world problems written by high school students in Arkansas!
