I participated in the documentary series which included testimonies of LGBTQ+ people from the Pitt County area. I facilitated in the planning process and was able to share my own personal journey. This work was very moving and I hope it raises awarenesses and advocates for the struggles of queer people in Pitt County. This documentary is a collaboration of a local queer photography business and the Injury Prevention Center (Suicide Prevention) at Vidant.

Helped facilitate a Japanese tea ceremony.
I tutored young students in Japanese language and read elementary Japanese books to students who attended the Kaiwa Club meeting.
This event was very important to me as a future educator. I was able to volunteer by offering free tutoring to students in Japanese. This event allowed me to work with future educators and younger kids interested in learning Japanese.
I volunteered with Safe-zone K-12 training. I was in charge of running registration and welcoming attendees, adding to the merchandise table, and helping with lunch. This event was so good for my soul and seeing how much these educators care about their students was inspiring. There was event an educator who drove from West Virginia to attend the training, which was mind-blowing and made me quite emotional. It just comes to show you that these trainings are important and that ECU is lucky to have such an amazing LGBTQ+ center that care serve all people.
The Cards for Kids event was a great way to serve my community indirectly yet through writing. This event occurred in the Jarvis Lobby and RA Bria is sending a list of participants.
