Wonderful experience seeing kids and their family come and spend time together while giving back tot heir school. The teachers were very involved in the experience and made things run smoothly. I fairly enjoyed being able to run certain booths through out the day and it was really rewarding.
This was by far such a good experience to help these lovely dogs get adopted. Even though most were not taken too seriously I think some of the people that stopped by started to think about adopting an animal that was from an organization like this one.
This was a great experience in that I got to work hands on with the dog adoption process in presenting these dogs to potential new families and then showing how caring they really are. Definitely could be a better experience for the dogs if the area in front of the petco wasn't so small.
The 2nd and 3rd graders were very energetic today but the head instructor was able to calm them down and start drills. At the end of the session he was able to give feedback to the kids about why we were doing teambuilding exercises and asked them questions about what went wrong and how did they fix it. These questions help them become better problem solvers.
Working with the 2nd and 3rd graders in the Outreach program at Oak Springs Elementary is fun and rewarding. The organization started to have more structure by tell the volunteers what were are planning on doing today and why, right before the kids join. This helped the volunteers stay on track of the organizations goal for the participants.
