(Honors) At my internship in J.B. Hunt, we had another week of personal development where employees can partake in Skill-Ups. This time around I partook in Skill-Ups such as: Making the Most out of Intellij, Consuming Asynchronous Data in Angular, and How to get the Help You Need Without Being a Pest. It's great to know that no matter the stage in your career there's always something new you can learn

(Honors) My capstone team was honored to be one of the top performing teams at the time where we got to present our project with CSCE Alumni in their monthly meeting. They provided great feedback and praise on our project and we got to network with a few members too
I participated in a survey that helped gather insight for student knowledge of reproductive health. Taking that survey made me realize there's still a lot of stuff I don't know and should be brought to my attention
During path interview weekend, I had the task of directing parents and prospective path scholars from stadium garage to Gearhart. Here I learned that most knew where to go, but it was good to talk with the current path scholars i was with
As a part of a service learning initiative with my Caving class, we helped out with the Cave Research Foundation counting biota within the caves we explored and cleaning some litter along the way. We got to see cool creatures in caves such as salamanders and crawdads!
To help Dr. Hoover, one of my instructors in outdoor leadership, I volunteered my time to be a part of his research. I had 3 sessions of before, during, and after where they did brain scans to see the effect of participating in outdoor activities.
("Honors Event") I spent some time at my internship JB Hunt, to do what we call "Skill Ups". Every 13th week we get some employees in the company host learning opportunities. I participated in sessions such as "How to be bad at your Job (and Get Away with it)", and "Debugging Angular" which were really informative and showed me that everyone is always learning at the company
As part of my Mountain Biking II class, I volunteered to help remove invasive species around the Freshman Experience trail. It was cool to learn about why we were removing bush honey suckle and also see our progress as well
I completed a survey for research about food insecurity for college students. Taking the survey did actually reflect on my own living situation and wonder how others could potentially be faring
I voted for the 2024 Presidental Election. This was the first time I voted and it took me off guard that they would announce that to the entire voting center 😭
