This was a super fun experience to get to pick veggies from the gardens and also to ask questions and learn about ways to harvest different vegetables and ingredients.
I got to assist at the Cheez IT booth and help direct people (if needed) around the center. I also helped people after the spun the wheel with getting their prizes. I was able to use 'customer service' skills in this role.
I helped by taking a survey for research purposes.
Today, I got to assist some younger kids in tutoring them in their homework. I helped several of them with their math and their reading assignments. During this time, I got to learn how to teach to some younger kids. We also had snack time and we played other games. LOTS of tic tac toe and making snowflakes out of paper!
I had the opportunity to go and make blankets for some animals at a local shelter. I had a blast doing this, because I know they dogs will appreciate some new blankets for their kennels. During this experience I worked with several other individuals to make said blankets, which in turn builds teamwork.
I helped to set up the yard games for the University of Arkansas' 150 year celebration. I worked with other fellow students and staff to ensure the games were set up in timely manner. After the games were set up, we encouraged the visitors and students to stop and play some of the games such cornhole and connect four.
