I love volunteering here! The staff is really great to work with and the clients are consistently happy to get food. I work at the library as a community resource connector and some of the connections I've made at HoH are going to help my social work over there as well. :D
Adding in one reflection for the entire day of volunteering (7:15am-3pm).
This was very fun! I went with part of the SCOPE crew to Timberline K-8 to teach multiple periods of chemistry instruction for kids. Being a middle school it was sometimes a little chaotic but I think the kids really enjoyed working with us and seemed to have fun. I'm a big believer in making the parts of higher education more friendly and inviting to young people and this group is absolutely delivering on that work. :D
Helped vendors with bathroom breaks, handed out water, helped break down. It was a fun little event and the kids were very cute in their costumes.
